SLLA apologizes to Shaw
Written by Greg Hankins, Editor
Friday, 13 April 2007
The Seven Lakes Landowners Association [SLLA] has issued an apology to Southside resident Alan Shaw, apparently as part of the settlement reached last month in a lawsuit that Shaw brought against the Association, Community Manager Dalton Fulcher, and former Seven Lakes Company Police Chief Dennis Lombard.
“The Seven Lakes Landowners Association would like to announce that the lawsuit brought by David Alan Shaw has been resolved,” the statement, marked “Exhibit A” and addressed to Greg Hankins, Editor, reads.
“The Seven Lakes Landowners Association would like to express to David Alan Shaw our regrets for any inconvenience this incident might have caused him personally or professionally.”
The statement is signed by Don Truesdell as President of the SLLA Board of Directors.
Truesdell provided The Times with a copy of the apology.
Shaw’s suit alleged that he had been maliciously prosecuted by the defendants when he was arrested on felony larceny charges in connection with a dispute between Shaw and workman hired to paint his Southside home.
Financial terms of the settlement were not released and the terms of the settlement agreement preclude either side from commenting on it.
